Fan Experience

Electric Callboy, one of Germany’s biggest metalcore acts, used ZATAP’s technology to release their new album “TANZNEID” as an NFC Fancard, which gives fans access to the full album and a rich fan experience

It includes exclusive video content and polaroids, a quiz, a mini-game, and a lot more engaging content about the band and the new album. After tapping, fans can personalize their experience with their name and a choice of theme. Fans can fill out the “TANZNEID” stamp card by completing challenges such as checking in to a show and much more, turning the release into an ongoing experience rather than a one-off purchase.

The digital experience lets fans add the “TANZNEID” wallet pass to their Apple or Google Wallet, keeping them connected to Electric Callboy for future updates.

Results

  • The NFC Fancard pushed the new album to #1 on the official German Album Charts.
  • Sold standalone (€13.99) and bundled with vinyl and CD boxsets (up to €89.99), the card turned a low-cost entry product into a chart-topping revenue driver.
  • Fans returned to the experience multiple times to complete challenges and fill up their stamp card, driving repeat engagement that let Electric Callboy and Sony Music Entertainment Germany acquire valuable first-party data on their most loyal fans.
